I like games: Easter Egg #3

Easter egg #3: a quick run through the games I've played, from a PlayStation 2 to a PC, and why this site spends November 2026 dressed up for GTA VI.

Easter egg #1 was balloons for my birthday. #2 was spiders for Halloween. #3 is a confession: I like games.

§ 01It started on a PlayStation 2#

As a kid I played a lot of games, and the console that hit me the most was the PlayStation 2. That's where I played Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, God of War II and Resident Evil 4.

Two of those are Rockstar's. Hold that thought.

§ 02Then, mostly PC#

Since 2023 I've played mostly on PC. The games from these years include God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök, Death Stranding and Death Stranding 2, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

Kratos is the one name on both lists. He gets around.

§ 03Waiting since the first trailer#

Rockstar put out the first Grand Theft Auto VI trailer on 4 December 2023, and I've been looking forward to playing it ever since. It comes out on 19 November 2026, and it's set in Vice City. That's the thought from earlier: I played Vice City on a PS2, and now it's back.

So for November 2026, this site got a GTA VI-styled edition of its own at /vi: the home page, the blog and the posts, redone as a fan homage. It's English-only, and it's not affiliated with or endorsed by Rockstar Games.

§ 04How much of a gamer am I?#

Enough to dress up the whole site for a game's release. If it's still November, come and see for yourself: the way in is at the end of this post. If it isn't, here's a peek at what you missed.

And three stills: the hero after the zoom, the contact form as an in-game phone, and a post in the edition's look.

The November edition's hero after the zoom: over a pink and violet sunset, the headline reads "Software engineer. Edge cases included." in tall condensed capitals, with one of five wanted stars filled in the header next to a "Classic site" button.

The contact section in the November edition: "Start a conversation." in gradient capitals on the left, and on the right the contact form drawn as a phone chat, asking "What should I call you?", where to send the reply, and "What's on your mind?". Four of five wanted stars are filled.

A blog post in the November edition: numbered contents on the left with the current section highlighted in gold, a TypeScript code block in pink and teal in the middle, and reading tools on the right with 16% read, text size, focus mode, copy link and back to top.

The whole site in this look, at /vi, until 30 November. The classic site stays where it is, one click away from the header.
